Family searches for rheumatism remedy

A CLAN in Central China’s Henan Province has spent the last four decades trying to find a treatment for rheumatism ,which causes numb limbs or a perpetually-painful backbone。

Medication available at home and abroad can hardly tackle the ailment which attacks people’s joints ,said 65-year-old Lou Duofeng，who heads the clan，“The illness is so stubborn that it is as hard to remove as cancer，”he said。

Shocked by the suffering of crippled and hopeless patients，Lou started his personal campaign for a cure more than 40 years ago。

His father made him a practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine and he made his brother，Lou Gaofeng ，and his son，Lou Yuqian，Associates in his campaign。

After consultation with hundreds of fellow practitioners of traditional medicine and almost 1 million visit to patients that had the disease，he invented eight kinds of medicine。
